In the Interest of National Security, It is necessary to regulate Media

Media is akin to a child in manners galore. Its inquisitiveness is tantamount to a child's. How every new fad or 'masala news' attracts media is the same as how a child gets attracted to such things. The need to regulate media is thus paramount.

Regulating Media does not mean restricting it from showing what is correct or binding it but it means to control media in a way that it does cross certain limits and boundaries. Media, unnecessarily, interferes in matters of the government and its foreign policy and reports what it thinks people should know or primarily what will earn them TRP. National Security cannot be compromised at any cost and for no vested interests. There is no need to expose or uncover what a country wants to do next or what its stand will be on a particular issue prior to its revelation at the international stage. It might be planning to wage an attack on any country or change its foreign policy entirely. But such sensitive issues need not be brought to the forefront till the perfect point of time and media through its activism and excessive alertness about these things brings it to the limelight which a country is averse to do and thus the country suffers as a result. Media should limit itself to the general news like crimes or reports of any sting operations or accusations on any leader or things like that. But the practice of muckraking of the policies or sensitive issues that it should keep secure or under cover brings good to no one except a shoot up in the popularity of the channel and more specifically another country becomes careful and much more attentive about our next step. This is what pulls back a country. If this happens the country becomes vulnerable and can come under the pressure of another country and be blackmailed which is detrimental.

So what the need of the hour is that media becomes wiser and does not play with a country's security. We know that it takes two to tango and so even our country and its office holders should take utmost care in maintaining that secrecy.

Thus, I would say that though it becomes necessary to regulate media, media cannot be solely blamed for toying with a country's national security
